after so many emo post i finally decided to do something cheerful le.
but somehow think so long also dunno what to post. so, i thought back to one of the conversation i had with sah and yihui they all and decided maybe i can expand on it.
TOPIC: COMPARISON
why do people feel inferior/superior?
because it is HUMAN NATURE to compare yourself with another.
even if our parents don't do it (e.g. compare children's results with other parents), we would still AUTO compare ourselves with them de rite!

taking birthdays for example:
You, Friend X and Friend Y are very close friend. Friend Y is a very rich girl.
You received a simple necklace for your birthday from Friend X. You are very happy because at least she remembered your birthday. And you know she always was short of cash.
A month later, it was Friend Y birthday... wow! Friend X actually gave her a Guess Watch!
OMG, suddenly you feel so unimportant... did X saved her share on your present to impress Friend Y?

but at the end of the day... i'll feel bad for thinking that way. because, you've already got your present.
It's the thoughts that counts isn't it?
The value/brand/size of the present doesn't matter seriously!
and when that happens, i'll always beat myself up internally. LOLS

and it always makes me think, don't i do it to others too?
i go all the way out to find a nice present for a friend because I FEEL LIKE IT, while i just 随便 get another friend who i also like a gift i know she would not mind because I ran out of money for thoughtful presents
some gifts i buy are expensive, some are just simple handmade ones. others might not have gotten a gift from me before despite how many they had given me.
but no matter what gifts i bought in the end, i just want them to know that i'm happy that they are being born into this earth to become my friend. and i'm celebrating their birthday because it's the day God give me a real nice friend to talk, laugh, crap, lame, play, and gossip with...
even though sometimes i may say evil things like "birthdays signifies you're one step closer to death", or things like "you're a year older! remember to apply for ELDERLY privileges!", i'm still happy i became friends with you.
